Bag found with 13 bullets in Nyandarua

Police in Nyandarua are investigating a case where a travelling bag was found on Nyahururu-Nyeri highway with 13 bullets.
Nyandarua North police boss Benjamin Onsongo said the bag was found near Maili Nne trading centre, five kilometres from Nyahururu town.
He said the bag had four live bullets and nine blank bullets. The bullets were wrapped in a polythene bag.
Other items found in the bag included men trousers, jumpers, shirts and khangas.
The police boss said the owner of the bag may have feared arrested by the traffic police who were a few metres ahead and threw the bag away.
He said dusting has been done on the items to get finger prints with the view of establishing the owner and have him or her arrested.
“The bag owner, whom we believe is a criminal, may have heard about a report of the vehicle that was nabbed here two days ago and was afraid to go pass the checkpoint." said Onsongo.
The police nabbed the vehicle near Laikipia University College along Nyahururu- Nakuru road with bhang worth sh. 3.5 million.
The police are still investigating the matter.
