An immigration official who has been rejecting work permit applications from foreigners with fraudulent and dubious documents has become a marked person after her bosses threatened to sack her. It seems her bosses are unhappy that her refusal has cost them the millions of shillings which have been coming their way through such applicants and want to remove her from the department.In her place, they want to reinstate another officer who was once interdicted on integrity issues. The man, who the bosses believe is more amenable to 'persuasion,' is currently under scrutiny by the ministry's internal auditors. The 'dubious investors' who have been denied work permits are reportedly willing to part with huge sums of money to ensure the transfer of the officer who is standing between them and their work permits.

A voter who filed a case on behalf of a senior IEBC official is staring destitution in the face after the officer failed to settle the legal fees demanded by the lawyers who successfully handled the case. The man's property is soon going under the auctioneer's hammer. In the crosshairs of the auctioneers is the hapless voter's property in Kisumu and his rural home in Vihiga County. It seems the man was hoodwinked into becoming the stooge of the IEBC official who promised him a substantial compensation for filing the case as well as settling the legal fees.
