NAIROBI, KENYA: Eagle coalition on Wednesday unveiled the names that will appear on the ballot under their ticket.
Outgoing Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth will be the flag bearer, and 33-year-old businessman Ronald Osumba will be his running mate in the March 4 polls..
The selection of Osumba as Kenneth’s running mate has come as a surprise to many who expected Former Raireda MP Raphael Tuju to accompany Kenneth on the ticket.
Explaining the choice of running mate, Kenneth said that a majority of Kenyans are young and Osumba would therefore be a suitable person to relate with the youth and rally votes for their bid.
Mr. Osumba, who is a relatively new face in politics, graduated from Moi University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Business Management. He has worked as a Senior Manager of Safaricom’s Public Sector and he is the Board Chairman of Youth Employment Systems-a nonprofit organization.
Speaking at the same event, former Rarieda MP Raphael Tuju announced that he has placed his presidential aspirations aside to support Peter Kenneth .
He added that he has confidence in Peter Kenneth’s ability to serve the  nation.
