Jubilee Coalition member parties on Monday evening said that they had resolved disputes arising from the primaries and had submitted a list of candidates to the electoral commission.
This came after hundreds of TNA aspirants spent the day chasing after party officials to secure their certificates.
Party secretary-general Onyango Oloo speaking at the Laico Regency Hotel in Nairobi declared that the final list was ready and would be submitted to the IEBC before the end of Monday.
“TNA has cleared all complaints arising from the nominations and we are forwarding the final list to the IEBC chairman before the end of the day,” said Mr Oloo who was flanked by Public Health minister Beth Mugo.
“We have examined all the cases forwarded to us, Kipipiri included. We have acted on the recommendations of the Disputes Resolution Board which has overturned certain decisions and confirmed others,” he stated, alluding to the said controversial nomination of Transport minister Amos Kimunya.
He added that the outcome of the appeals had been communicated to all the aggrieved aspirants, a statement which was denounced by former Kamukunji MP Simon Mbugua.
“Nobody has been notified of the outcome of our appeals, we are being kept in the dark, the party seems to have rubber stamped whatever results they received,” he complained.
A list seen by the Nation had the names of Mr Kimunya and TNA activist Mary Wambui highlighted, suggesting that a final decision was yet to be made regarding their fate.
The aspirants flocked the Panafric Hotel on Monday morning after word went round that the party was issuing certificates to those who won during Friday’s primaries, only to be told that no TNA official had been spotted.
They proceeded to the nearby Silversprings Hotel after learning that the party had called a press conference to make the list public only for the function to be called off.
On its part, URP said they were through with the disputes and had drawn up a list of candidates they submitted.
Chairman Francis Ole Kaparo said URP was only aware of not more than two disputes which he said would be solved before the deadline.
“All those who qualified have had their certificates or are waiting to get them” he said adding that, the conflicts in parts of Uasin Gishu arose from allegations of rigging and had been solved.
