Kenya’s first PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE to be on the 11th of February

Monday, the 21st of January 2013 - The Kenya DAILY POST has learnt that the country’s main television and radio stations are planning to broadcast the country’s first presidential debate on the 11th of February.

The stations, led by the Nation Media Group, the Royal Media Group and the Standard Media Group, first launched the initiative in October last year but it was ‘buried’ due to the insistence by political parties that they needed to carry out nominations first.

Now that the Presidential race is a little bit less crowded (there were more than ten presidential aspirants when the initiative was first launched!) the remaining aspirants should be easy to handle in debate format.

The debate moderators are yet to be settled on but last year all reports seemed to indicate that the honour would go NTV’s Linus Kaikai and Citizen TV’s Prime Time siren Julie Gichuru.

More on this story to follows.
