Latest Synovate opinion poll outlandish

The current pre-occupation by pollsters in releasing an unauthenticated poll is a serious indictment that some of us intent on fanning chaos have not learnt from the debacle of 2007 elections.

Whereas you would assume that a scientific poll would place all the contestants on a level pedestal, pollsters are roller costing the public into hardened perceptions that will cost this country dearly should their assumed leaders fail to succeed the way pollsters want to project them.

The Ipsos Synovate poll is a clear example of the recent pollster infatuation with empty electoral engineering divorced from reality.

The Synovate poll deliberately and defectively uses faulty sampling weighed in favour of the so-called two horses at the expense of other presidential contestants.

The net result is that pollsters are setting up Kenyans for post-elections conflict over elections results.

We are seeing a situation where pollsters have become incurable manipulators of public opinion.

Unfortunately, media publicising this polls without asking hard questions on their authenticity may inadvertently be abetting a deliberate priming of some Kenyans to reject the elections outcome.
