Ngilu: I am third in Jubilee Alliance

By Paul Mutua
Narc leader Charity Ngilu says she is the third top ranking official in the Jubilee Alliance after its presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta and running mate William Ruto.
Ngilu upheld she would be therefore the Ukambani region’s representative in the coalition once it formed the government after the March 4 general election.
The Water minister said the needs and aspirations of Eastern Kenya would be comfortably accommodated in the Jubilee government and asked the community to be wary of being relegated to the opposition.
“I would be the majority leader in the senate if the coalition ascends to power during the general polls. I urge Kitui people to stick with Jubilee to be enjoined in the government,” Ngilu said.
The Minister was speaking at the Kitui Central CDF offices in Kitui town when she received Mr Kennedy Ngumbau who defected from Wiper Democratic Movement to Narc after losing gubernatorial bid against Dr Julius Malombe.
Ngumbau will be former Mutito MP Kiema Kilonzo’s deputy in governor’s quest.
Ngilu dismissed Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka as a leader who has done ‘nothing’ for 30 years he has been in government.
“In the Jubilee Government, I will be positioned number three from the top leadership. My role will be to assist Uhuru and Ruto in transforming this country into a prosperous one with rebrand leadership geared to elevating abject poverty, diseases, lack of water and other problems that mostly affect women and children," she said.
She said: “Time for change is now and we will not be left behind as a region as the country embraces new and youthful leadership with a clear vision and mission to unite the people and roll out meaningful development.”
She said Wiper party luminaries were worried by her quest for county’s senate seat and the infiltration of Jubilee alliance in the region because their development records were wanting.
Speaking at the same function, Kiema said the future of Kenya lies in the young generation that Jubilee generation represents. He said the coalition wanted to bring development and unity to the country.
