Pres. Obama Takes Oath at Public Inauguration

WASHINGTON, DC
Monday, January 21, 2013
President Barack Obama is sworn in for his second term Monday at the U.S. Capitol. Following his swearing-in and inaugural address, he and First Lady Michelle Obama will participate in the inaugural parade from the Capitol to the White House.
The President and Vice President were officially sworn in on Sunday, January 20, as mandated by the Constitution in private ceremonies at the Vice President's residence and the White House. Today's public ceremony includes musical performances, the inaugural address, and the ceremonial swearing in of the President and Vice President by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts.
Immediately following the inaugural ceremony, the President and Vice President attend a Congressional Luncheon before beginning the inaugural parade back to the White House. In the evening the President will attend two congressional balls, the Commander-in-Chief's Ball and a massive public ball at the Washington Convention Center.
