REVEALED: New Year’s State House MEETING that axed MUDAVADI out of UHURU/ RUTO’s Jubilee

Thursday January 3, 2013 - President Mwai Kibaki chaired a night meeting on Tuesday that axed Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi completely out of the Jubilee coalition, DAILY POST can now reveal.

According to a credible source who attended the meeting at State House at around 10.oo pm on Tuesday, the Head of State invited Deputy Prime Ministers Uhuru Kenyatta and Musalia Mudavadi, Eldoret North MP William Ruto, Charity Ngilu and Bonny Khalwale in a bid to try to convince Uhuru to drop his Presidential ambitions and support Musalia Mudavadi.

Other leaders present in the meeting included Kibaki’s private secretary Prof Nick Wanjohi and National Security Intelligence Service (NSIS) director Brigadier Gichangi who were behind the formation of UDF party which is associated with Musalia Mudavadi.

In the meeting, Uhuru, maintained that he cannot shelve his Presidential ambitions for Musalia Mudavadi saying he will betray his supporters who had entrusted him with Jubilee’s leadership.

Uhuru who is also The National Alliance (TNA) party leader, urged the President to request Musalia Mudavadi to accept a delegates’ mode of nomination, so that their supporters can chose their leaders democratically.

But on his side Mudavadi said he feared a delegate’s mode of nominations because majority of William Ruto’s delegates will automatically vote for Uhuru Kenyatta.

In the meeting, Uhuru and Ruto resolved to part ways with Mudavadi, who still maintained will vie for the presidency on a UDF ticket.

The following morning (Wednesday) Mudavadi’s party UDF formally announced it had cut ties with Uhuru and Ruto after a stand-off on the modalities of disengagement at the Political Parties’ registrar’s office.
