Ruto: We will offer enough security to boost development

By James Munyeki
The Jubilee Alliance has promised Kenyans of adequate security once it takes over power after the March 4 General Election.
Eldoret North MP William Ruto, who is Uhuru Kenyatta’s running mate in the alliance, said that it was through peace and adequate security that the country would develop.
He regretted that the country was losing innocent lives in the hands of criminals, and it was the will of the Jubilee Alliance to have Kenyans live in harmony.
Ruto said that the next government, if they win, would equip Kenya Armed Forces with adequate police skills to supplement security in the volatile areas.
He said there was an urgent need to end the merciless killings recently witnessed in Tana Delta and parts of Rift Valley.
Shame on the country
“It is a shame that Kenyans are losing lives in Tana Delta and Rift Valley, yet we have a Government in place. The Jubilee Alliance will use the Armed Forces to team up with the Police Force to provide security. This is the only way that the country will move forward,” he said.
Addressing supporters at Muchongoi in Baringo County yesterday, the Eldoret North MP said that Kenyans were yearning for change, which would only be provided by the Jubilee Alliance.
In Mochongoi, there are hundreds of people who have been displaced following clashes between two communities over cattle rustling. At least one person has been killed as a result and schools have not reopened for first term.
He warned criminals and cattle rustlers that their days were numbered.
Ultimatum to rustlers
“We want to issue an ultimatum to cattle rustlers in the country that after the March 4 elections, they will have nowhere to live in. They should either move out of the country or end their way of living,” he said.
MPs Aden Duale, William Cheptumo and Mahmoud Mohamed accompanied Ruto, among other leaders. The leaders criticised the CORD Alliance, terming it a pact of non-reformers.
