In a sudden turn of events, TNA closed its media tallying centre after announcing results from only ten counties.
The National Election Board chairman Steve Omenge said they opted to transmit the results digitally and release them on a website and not announce them from the centre.
Initially, the party had planned to announce results from the centre set up at the Silver Springs Hotel in Nairobi as they came in but they will now be posted on www.tnahq.co.ke/nominations.
Mr Omenge explained that these were preliminary results and that they were expecting more information later in the night.
Results from hotly contested areas are yet to be received.
Among the results released at the centre were those from Kitui, Bungoma, Embu, Kajiado, Lamu, Machakos, Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Trans Nzoia and Taita Taveta counties.
