Mudavadi said Kenyans should elect a leader who would strive to unite all the country’s communities and urged them to eschew acts of violence reminiscent to the 2007-2008 post election violence in the forthcoming polls.
“Kenyans should be wary of both the Cord and Jubilee coalitions’ quest to lead the country. Their agenda will be driven by vengeance which is recipe for chaos and a fractious nation,” he said at Ololulun’ga area, Narok South where he received 111 defectors from URP led by Dalton Konchela who is vying for the county’s gubernatorial seat.
Mudavadi said though he was elbowed out of the Jubilee alliance, he does not harbour hard feelings about it, claiming that the Eldoret North MP William Ruto and his DPM colleague outfit was composed of deceitful leaders who would “auction” the country if it ascends to the country’s leadership.
“I had been promised by the two to be the presidential flag bearer. The deal was sealed under the watchful eyes of two top lawyers yet they reneged on it. How can Kenyans trust deceitful people who even have cases to answer at the International Criminal Court to lead them?” Mudavadi who was accompanied by Kanu chairman Gideon Moi asked.
He however said he would not revenge on the wrongful deeds that have been meted on him by the Jubilee Coalition and when he was Prime Minister’s Raila Odinga’s deputy in ODM if elected to be Kenya’s fourth president, charging that he would instead strive to unite the country.
Saying he was confident that he would win the presidency, the DPM promised to do away with tribal arithmetic which he blamed on retarded development of some parts of the country.
“Kenyans should vote wisely in the March 4 election,” said Mudavadi.
